Backroads is pleased to offer our fantastic 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa, one of the best values in the current air-cooled Porsche marketplace.
This example features above average paint, original fuchs wheels, updated h4 headlights, and a very nice targa top. On the inside you’ll find a rare combination of linen carpets and black seats / door panels accentuated by Porsche factory sport seats.
In addition to the desirable sport seats, drivability is enhanced by a Bott Sport Shifter and custom wood shift knob making the 915 gearbox much easier to live with. An updated Porsche radio can be found in the dash completing an updated OEM look.
The SC currently shows 75k miles which we believe to be original as documented by the Carfax. In 2005, the car’s odometer was replaced at 58,631 miles. The new odometer was updated recently to reflect the total mileage of the car.
Our 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa is mechanically sound and a blast to drive. Cooling is enhanced by a front mount oil cooler, keeping the 3.0L engine running smooth. The 915 gearbox shifts as it should with no grinding and the flat six pulls nicely. Every year it gets harder and hard to find a solid air-cooled car in this price range.
